Daphne Doodle Bug...

She started out as Mark's baby, but she loves the Momma... and I love her... she is just so precious, and cuddly, and affectionate... never did I think I would let a dog sleep in my bed... her spot is under the covers, next to my belly. But when she gets hot, she'll get right next to mark and lay her head on his pillow. In the morning, she rolls over on her back, like the second picture, and gives us those sad eyes, and we have to drag her out of bed... she's ROTTEN!!!

Music Fest!!!

We had friends over yesterday; our neighbors, Brad, Cheyenne, and baby Madi Jo, who is just getting over the SWINE FLU!!! Seriously, poor baby has been sick for about 10 days, so I felt safe with her over, surely she's not still contagious (I HOPE), but we were all passing around the Germ-X all night, and I didn't kiss her either... An R.N. named Barnie, that works in the same hospital, found out that we play music, and he asked if he could come over and play sometime, so last night he brought his guitar and we all played from 5 until midnight!!! It was so much fun... Brad is learning the drums, Barnie plays lead, and Mark and I are rhythm, so we sounded GOOD! It's fun having new musicians over, hearing what they know, singing together, and getting feedback from them... So Barnie is going with us to open-mic night on Tuesday to play some of his stuff. At the end of the night we finally had dinner...Mark had been cooking off and on through the night; we had ribs, roasted corn on the cob, and roasted jalapenos stuffed with garlic... Mark ROCKS in the kitchen and in the music room!!!
Hadn't played in awhile, and Friday night my fingers hurt so badly, but with all the playing yesterday, the callouses formed rather quickly, thank GOODNESS!!! Now all is good in my world!

Kolby, future rock star!!!

Kolby came to Mark's b-day with a gift for all of us. He & his lovely wife, Laura, wrote a song, and Kolby performed it for all of us- I had tears in my eyes... we love our friends- they ROCK!!!

"DANG LEE HARVEY!!!!"

This was a very proud moment for me. My son, Chance has been saving his money(and he always does) and had an opportunity to spend some of it. Amy's dad was trying to sell a 30-30 lever action deer rifle. NEVER been fired, comes with a sling and a box of ammo...FOR 300 BUX! I told Chance about it. He wanted to think about it(smart, I must admit). The next day he said he wanted it. I told Amy and she told her dad. He brought it up when he came to my b-day party. The look in Chance's eyes was priceless. Mine too!!! I was(and AM) so proud of my son. He bought his first deer rifle! Well, it means something to me. It goes back to my dad.
Saturday was my b-day party. Sunday morning we got our lazy butts out of bed to the smell of bacon and french toast(courtesy of my lovely wife, Amy Bug!). After that was finally over, Tyler, Wyatt, Chance and I went out by the lake to test fire his new weapon! He was shooting at a gallon milk jug filled with water from a distance of one hundred yards...with OPEN SIGHTS!!!! That's hard enough for a good shooter. Anyway, his first shot was a little too left by about 4". As you can see, his next shot was NOT!!!! 100 yrds, open sights(NO SCOPE)!! You will also have to excuse the language. We have a deal that when it's just the guys, we talk how we want. We just forgot we were on camera. We were just so excited. Tyler said, "Dang Lee Harvey, that was some good shootin'!!" I sound like a hillbilly...GGGGAAAWWW-LLLEEEEEE!!!!! Whatever, it was a very cool moment for me and I got lost in the moment. SIMF!!!!

School Days...

Girls were so very sweet this morning; had to take pictures to remember this day- no screaming, crying, or fighting amongst ANY of us!!! WOOHOO!! Sofie was happy because I flat-ironed her hair, and V is just happy to have some new clothes! Today is high school picture day, so I didn't make her pose for me this morning! She was busy changing clothes about 3 or 4 times! ;)
